We are The Eye of the Dog Art Center's Gallery: The Dog's Eye Gallery. We feature some of our studio artists as well as artists from all around this wide, wide world.

First Annual Mug Show

Eye of the Dog Art Center’s Gallery: The Dog’s Eye Gallery is hosting an annual juried exhibition that explores the functional ceramic vessel. Submissions can be cups, mugs, tumblers, or tea bowls. This year the exhibit will be part of the seventh annual Dirt Dauber Clay Festival, which will take place May 20th & 21st 2017.

 

Exhibition Juror: Renee LoPresti, Ceramic Studio Artist

            Renee LoPresti was born and raised in Northwestern New Jersey. She graduated from the New York State School of Ceramics at Alfred University. Currently, she lives in San Marcos, TX and is a resident artist at Eye of the Dog Art Center. Renee states, “My focus is making functional ceramics consisting of simple forms and graphic surfaces with underlying narratives”. 

 

Awards: Best in Show receives $250

 

Important Dates

Submission Deadline: April 7th, 2017

Notifications sent: The week of April 14th, 2017

Accepted work must be received by: April 28th, 2017

Exhibition Dates: May 5th, 2017- May 31st, 2017

Online Debut: May 6th, 2017

 

Entry Fee

$20 for submission of up to three (3) entries (one mug/cup per entry, no sets please). Once entry is submitted, fees are nonrefundable regardless of acceptance into the exhibition. All entry fees are paid online at www.dogseyegallery.com/shop

 

Eligibility

This National juried exhibition is open to all U.S. artists 18 years and older working in ceramics. Individual works must weigh less than 2 lbs. Please submit only original work that has been completed in the last three years. All work must function as intended, use food-safe glazes, and be free of any sharp edges. The Dog’s Eye Gallery reserves the right to reject any work that is not suitably prepared for exhibition or that differs greatly from the original submission.

 

Commission

The gallery retains 30% commission on all sales, price work accordingly.

 

Sales

All sales will be handled by the gallery staff at eye of the Dog Art Center Gallery. An online sale will accompany the physical show through our online store at www.dogseyegallery.com/shop Sales made in eye of the Dog Art Center’s online store will be under the same terms as in-gallery sales. The online show will debut May 6th, 2017.

 

 Shipping and Liability

All artwork must arrive to The Dog’s Eye Gallery no later than April 28th, 2017. All shipping and insurance fees to and during the exhibition will be the responsibility of the artist. The Dog’s Eye Gallery will pay for return shipping of any unsold work (US addresses only).

 

Photography

The Dog’s Eye Gallery reserves the right to photograph works, and use submitted photo materials of accepted pieces for the purpose of documentation, education, and publicity.

Step 2: Email Application

 

Images

All entries must be submitted electronically via email to dogseyegallery@gmail.com Judging will be done entirely from JPEG images. No other formats will be accepted.

 

JPEGs must be 300dpi, at least 1200 pixels in one direction. Digital images should be labeled with the artists last name, underscore, first letter of first name, and the entry #. (Example: John Smith would be Smith_J1.jpg, Smith_J2.jpg, Smith_J3.jpg). One detail shot of each entry is welcome and should be labeled as 1B, 2B, and 3B.
